Volunteering
Please read this entire page before signing up to volunteer.
Thank you for considering volunteering. Volunteers help to make this event possible and to keep the cost of attendance as low as possible for everyone.

Due to the fixed costs of running this event, no more than 10-25 positions are available for 100% reimbursement.
Volunteer Options
All Access Pass
Volunteers working for an All Access Pass are required to work 9 – 12 hours (during or before the event). There are only 5-10 of these spots. These spaces go very quickly, so you should register early!
Dance Only Pass
Volunteers working for a Dance Only Pass are required to work 6 – 9 hours (during or before the event). There are only about 15 of these spots. These spaces go very quickly, so you should register early!
Reimbursement
Volunteers working less than 6 hours will receive reimbursement at the rate of $5/hour AFTER 2 hours of work.
Just Want to Help. You can donate your time to support BFX because you love it! (To all volunteers who just want to pitch in: THANK YOU!!!!)
Other Options
If you cannot volunteer (or would prefer not to volunteer) to reduce the cost of admission then you can apply for the installment payment program. This will not reduce the cost of attendance but it will allow you to pay over time without having to use a credit card.
How It All Works...
Full Payment In Advance
You must pay in advance by check. You will be reimbursed for only a portion of your admission when you volunteer.- All Access Passes: If you plan to attend the whole event (classes and dances), you MUST pay in full in advance.
- Dance Only Passes: If you plan to attend only the dances, you MUST pay at least $30 in advance.
NOTE: If you cannot afford to pay in advance and it is absolutely necessary to work off the entire cost of admission in order to attend, you MUST make arrangements in advance (at least 60 days prior to the event — no exceptions) with the Organizers and the Volunteer Coordinator.
Reimbursement
If you will be volunteering your time and require reimbursement, please do the following:
- If you are unclear about any part of the BFX volunteer program, please contact Megan Repar in advance at volunteer@bostonfusionexchange.com.
- Register through the BFX website.
- Pay in full in advance in an amount not less than $100 (unless you have made advance arrangements prior to registration)
- Note that you will be sending 2 separate checks. One that will be cashed immediately, one that will not be cashed unless you do not fulfill your obligations.
- You will be reimbursed for only a portion of your admission
when you volunteer.
- You will receive this reimbursement on the last day of the event based on the number of hours that you worked.
- Volunteers are reimbursed at a rate of $5/hour AFTER 2 hours of work.
- Volunteers donate 100% of their first 2 hours to the event.
- At the end of the event, we will either destroy the second check
(see explanation below) or return it to you.
- If you have worked less than the amount required to destroy this check, we will cash the check and issue you the appropriate refund on the last day of the event.
- If you do not show up to your assigned shifts or fail to work (despite being physically present) during your assigned shifts, we will cash the check and issue you the appropriate refund on the last day of the event.
- Send a second check made payable to Ivy Grey for the rest of the cost of attendance to:
Boston Fusion Exchange
This check should be in the amount of reimbursement that you intend to work off during the event. For example, if you plan to work for 6 hours, your check should be for $20. (6 hours volunteered - 2 free hours = 4 reimbursable hours x $5/hour = $20)

We will cash the checks for anyone that does not respond assuming that you are no longer interested in volunteering.
